Seniors: 15 - 16 Yrs. Old
Seniors baseball plays on a full size baseball diamond (60’6’’ pitching rubber, 90’ bases). As with other levels of Little League, players are eligible to compete in end-of-the-season tournaments and All-Stars. Mercer Island has not fielded a Seniors team in the past, but interested players should contact the Mercer Island Boys & Girls club about possibly joining an off-island team on the Eastside.
Juniors: 13 - 14 Yrs. Old
Juniors is a level of Little League for 13-14 year-olds. Like Seniors, basepaths are 90’ and the pitching distance is 60’6’’. As with other levels of Little League, players are eligible to compete in end-of-the-season tournaments and All-Stars. 13 year-olds are eligible for Juniors, but are encouraged to participate in Intermediate if possible. For the past few years, MILL has fielded one Juniors team, which competes against teams from other leagues around the area.
Intermediate: 12 - 13 Yrs. Old
Intermediate is Little League’s newest level. It provides a stepping stone between the traditional Little League Diamond and a full size diamond used in Juniors and Seniors. Basepaths are 70’ and pitchers throw from 50 feet. It is for League Age 13 year olds (11 and 12 year-olds are eligible but MILL encourages 11s and 12s to play in Majors or Coast). Mercer Island 13 year-olds should register for Juniors baseball and if there are enough players and managers to form both a 13 year-old and a 14 year-old team, Mercer Island will form an Intermediate team; otherwise, 13 year-olds will play on the Mercer Island Juniors team.
