Help us congratulate our PLAYERS OF THE WEEK! These players were chosen for their sportsmanship since the season started, their resiliency in difficult situations, and their overall positive impact on their teams. Each player will receive a free slice from Pagliacci's and a Player of the Week certificate. Keep up the great work!

Elliott Van Winkle, Phillies (Majors)
Despite dealing with an elbow injury halfway through the season, which limited his ability to throw, Elliott never missed a beat. He showed up to every game with a great attitude and a willingness to help the team however he could. When we were down to eight players and asked if he could give us a few innings at first base, his response was immediate: "Of course." Elliott was always the loudest voice in the dugout and on the field, constantly cheering on his teammates. He has a bright future in baseball and was an absolute joy to coach this season!

Parker Anders, Pirates (AAA)
Parker was fearless at the plate this year! How fearless you ask? After getting beaned square in the leg during the All-City Tournament, she simply smiled at her coaches and ran down to first base, eager to score a run for her team. Parker had an excellent tournament with multiple hits including a double in the second-round game. She works hard every practice on hitting and fielding and became a reliable outfielder and second baseman for the AAA Pirates. Thank you, Parker!

Carter Hagstrom, Reds (AAA)
Carter has been a pleasure to have on the team this year. He always shows up with a smile on his face and is very supportive of his teammates. After experiencing a couple game slump at the plate, he worked through it and ended the season with several multi-hit games in a row.

Gianna Besecker, Island Lions (AAA Softball)
Gianna Besecker brings laughter in the dugout and strikeouts on the mound, and even won the home run derby at the Opening Day festivities earlier this season! She is a great teammate, is always ready to help and support others and has a big love for softball and her friends! Congrats on a great season, Gianna!

Isaac Freedman, Red Sox (AA)
Isaac is one of the most enthusiast players on our team and has shown tremendous growth throughout the session. He always listens and is a fast learner, his quick thinking resulted in an unassisted double and triple play this season!

John G., Angels (A)
John leads with his "can do” attitude at each practice and game. Whether it's knocking the first pitch he sees into the outfield or power sliding into third in a rain storm -- his determination inspires the team. He’s a tough competitor, but still enjoys the post game handshake with the other team.

Ella Atteberry, River Dogs (Sluggers)
Resiliency speaks to perseverance, adaptability, and the ability to grow through challenges, and Ella has been resilient. Her participation and team spirit are contagious. Her determination and positivity make coaching not just easier, but genuinely rewarding. Having her on the field is a joy to watch!

Ava Youngren, Tin Caps (T-Ball)
From our very first practice, to our last week of the season, Ava has been a great listener and team player. She is always the first to jump in and practice a new skill and consistently gives her best effort. Ava never hesitates to share her glove when a friend has forgotten theirs, and her positive attitude and willingness to participate has been a great example for her teammates! Keep up the great work, Ava!
