Players of the Week!

Updated: May 15

Help us congratulate the 5/6 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK! These players were chosen for their sportsmanship over the past several weeks, their resiliency in difficult situations, and their overall positive impact on their teams. Each player will receive a free slice from Pagliacci's and a Player of the Week certificate. Keep up the great work!

Week of 5/6:

Charlie Ardillo - Mets Coast

Charlie shows up to every game and practice with a great attitude and willingness to work hard. He's taken on a leadership role at shortstop making sure everyone knows where to go with the ball. The hard work he's been putting in is paying off - he just recorded his first multi-hit game!

Elon Tsay - Padres AAA

Despite being new to sports, Elon never gives up, even after getting bumped and bruised. His determination inspires the team, whether it’s in the batter’s box or staying in front of hard hit balls.  He’s a tough competitor, but always enjoys the post game handshake with the other team.

Elliott Samieian - Mariners AA

Elliott is a 2nd grader in his first year of organized baseball.  His smile and the joy with which he plays is infectious.  When Elliott steps to the plate he always has a smile, and it gets even bigger when he hears his opponents yell, “back up! Big hitter!” He’s a wonderful teammate, too.  When practice was canceled last week due to the Lakeridge Science Fair, Elliott came to the Fair (even though he goes to West Mercer) because he wanted to compliment his teammates on all their Science Fair entries.  That’s what being a teammate is all about!

Roland Engel - Reds AA

Rollie loves baseball and is a joy to be around. He’s the player who shows up early and doesn’t want to leave. He always has a smile on his face, encourages his teammates, and somehow finds a way to slide into every base. When attending games for his big brother play, he shows up in the Reds team uniform (and sometimes catcher gear). Rollie exemplifies Little League and reminds his coaches how much they enjoyed playing, and why they still love being around the game.

Jordan Moultray - White Sox AA

Jordan has an incredible attitude and focus while on the field. His team can rely on him to perform at any position and he does it with a smile on his face. This week, he had a handful of doubles while playing great defense at 1st base.

Elsie Roeter - Maroon Softball Coast

Elsie is always in attendance at practices and games with a positive attitude, is always paying attention and is ready to take on challenges when asked. She is extremely coachable and a leader to her team. She doesn't get knocked down in the face of failure and is just an overall great kid!
